Så säger det själva i allafall. Singeln har börjats spela på radion världen över, även i svenska stationer. Det kan vara så att skivan släpps i år. Jag vågar dock inte släppa fram den där bubblande glädjen ännu, eftersom vad som helst kan hända i Guns N' Roses-världen. Men nog blir man lite anspänd!

Idag postades det här på Guns N' Roses officiella hemsida:

Robin's plans caught everyone in Guns, as well as our fans, a bit off-guard.

Really, Del James' private e-mail that someone took upon themselves to post publicly is the best way for us to address things at this time: "Only Robin knows what Robin's doing."

Neither we nor management, etc., know any more in this regard and we prefer not to speculate or offer opinions at this time.

Robin's Robin. We're in negotiations for the release of "Chinese Democracy" and things are going well.

When we begin to put tour plans together, we'll see where things are. Until then, Robin's touring with NIN and we're working with management on our game plans.

Nu är det över.
Scotts mailade MTV sitt svar till världen efter att ha brutit med bandet.

"After reading the comment by Duff, Matt, Dave and the illustrious 'Guitar Hero,' Saul Hudson, a.k.a. Slash, I find it humorous that the so-called four 'founding members' of Velvet Revolver, better known to themselves as 'the Project' before I officially named the band, would decide to move on without me after I had already claimed the group dead in the water on March 20 in Glasgow," Weiland explained. "In response to Slash's comment regarding my commitment [to the band], I have to say it is a blatant and tired excuse to cover up the truth. The truth of the matter is that the band had not gotten along on multiple levels for some time. On a musical level, there were moments of joy, inspiration, fun ... at times. But let's not forget the multiple trips to rehab every member of the band had taken (with the exception of one member — no need to mention his name).

"Personally speaking, I choose to look forward to the future and performing with a group of friends I have known my entire life, people who have always had my back," Weiland continued. "This also speaks to my commitment to my music and my fellow bandmates in [Stone Temple Pilots] and to the fans who I feel would much rather watch a group of musicians who enjoy being together as opposed to a handful of discontents who at one time used to call themselves a gang."

In conclusion, Weiland warned fans not to be "fooled by veiled trickery," and even wished Velvet Revolver his best. "Good hunting, lads — I think Sebastian Bach would be a fantastic choice."

Hoppas resten av gänget håller ihop. Kanske kommer Axl att lira med grabbarna igen, men med största sannolikhet kommer detta inte att ske. Håll åtminstone inte andan medan du väntar. Lämna gärna en kommentar om vem du tycker borde ta över efter Scott! Personligen skulle jag kunna tänka mig John Corabi, eller kanske Chris Cornell. Helst ser jag dock ett helt ny förmåga. Eller ja, Axl allra helst.

Velvet Revolver founding members Slash, Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum and Dave Kushner announced today that they are parting ways with singer Scott Weiland. "This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100% committed to either," said Slash. "Among other things, his increasingly erratic on-stage behavior and personal problems have forced us to move on."

Dr. Pepper is imploring Axl Rose to put out his album that's been an astounding 17 years in the making. The creators of the curiously candy-like beverage have promised that if Rose releases Guns N' Roses' 'Chinese Democracy' at any point in 2008, everyone in America will receive a free can of Dr. Pepper.

But free soda aside, the best part about the proposal might just be the way the company is not only relating to, but sympathizing with, the 46-year-old singer. "It took a little patience to perfect Dr Pepper's special mix of 23 ingredients that our fans have come to know and love," said Jaxie Alt, director of marketing for Dr. Pepper -- not even blinking at her nod to the band's 1989 hit 'Patience.' "So we completely understand and empathize with Axl's quest for perfection -- for something more than the average album." What's more? The "everyone" in their promise comes with a big, wickedly funny asterisk: According to the Dr., both Slash and Buckethead will be left off the gift list. Bet they didn't see that coming.

21 Mars. Scott Weiland (sångaren i Velvet Revolver) säger till publiken, och resten av bandets, förvåning: "You're watching something special... the last tour by VELVET REVOLVER." Scott går även av scenen en lång stund, och kommer tillbaka halvvägs in i "It's So Easy"

"Responding to our drummer's [Matt Sorum] rant about why the band is in a state of flux: "Well, first of all, the state of my family affairs is really none of his business, since he is too immature to have a real relationship, let alone children. So don't attempt to stand in a man's shoes when you haven't walked his path. Secondly, 'keeping rock 'n' roll alive?' I've made many attempts to remain cordial with the members of VR, but mainly, the likes of you. Funny though — this is your FIRST band, as opposed to being a hired gun. I've been making records (now on my ninth), which have sold over 35 million copies worldwide and have maintained a level of professionalism regardless of how many drugs I've ingested into my system. I have only cancelled one tour during the entire course of my 16-year run and that was the 'make-up' Australia tour. Now, shall I open that can of worms, Matthew? Release the Kraken? Serve... Volley! You cancelled the Aussie tour in the fall because you went to rehab, but I won't say why… we'll just let Blabbermouth find out for themselves. "As for our fans — I will sweat, bruise, and bleed for you. And will continue to do so until the end of this tour. However, you deserve to hear VELVET REVOLVER playing… not certain individuals singing along to get a muddied up sound. God forbid — could one imagine if I grabbed a guitar and started soloing along with Slash? That would never happen because I know my place. It's a shame… we were a gang. But ego and jealousy can get the better of anyone. I wish the best and plan to annihilate the stage in the last few shows. "On a separate note, we did an STP [STONE TEMPLE PILOTS] photo shoot before this tour and it was fun, inspiring and it gave me that thrill — that feeling that got my rocks off from the get-go."

Back in the saddle

Som ni säkert märkt så har även denna blogg drabbats av den ack så vanliga sjukdomen inaktivitet den senaste tiden. Detta beror främst på att jag har haft oerhört mycket att göra på senaste och en längre utlandsvistelse. En annat skäl är att det inte hänt ett skit vettigt på Guns N' Roses-fronten.

Lite sammanfattning av senaste tiden händelser:

Angel Down har släppts. Sebastian Bachs skiva som innehåller tre låtar där Axl medverkar.
Det nya spelet Burnout Paradise har släppts, som har Paradise City som ledmotiv.
Axl Rose assistent Beta Lebeis har snackat med tidningen Classic Rock och sagt att skivan är klar, och att nu handlar det om "förhandlingar". Ta detta med 128kg grovsalt.
Marco Beltrami, som har jobbat med Chinese Democracy har släppt en låt på soundtracket till filmen 3:10 to Yuma som heter just Chinese Democracy. Du kan lyssna på en bit av låten hos Amazon.com

Låten är en cover på Aerosmiths låt från 1976. Jag gillar verkligen versionen med Bach och Axl, en skön rocklåt som sätter sig direkt!
Den enda mp3 som finns av denna låten ännu är alltså en inspelning från radion där den sändes för första gången tidigt imorse.

Remember when Rock Daily told you about Axl Rose’s Johnny Cash/Bob Dylan-like collaboration with Sebastian Bach on the Celebrity Rap Superstar’s first solo album since 1999, Angel Down (out November 20th)? Here’s a quick refresher: “I texted Axl,” Bach recalls. “I go, ‘Hey, dude, when are you gonna come and sing on my record?’ I was just joking. But he never ceases to amaze me. And his response was, ‘When? Where? Where is the studio?’ I was, like, ‘Pinch me, I’m dreaming.’” Now Bach has kindly provided us with photographic evidence of the pairing — yes, real-live proof that Axl Rose still knows how to find his way to a recording studio. Bach also gave a quick Chinese Democracy update to the Albany Times Union a few days ago that demonstrates he could have a bright future as a publicist should the rock-star thing ever fail him: “I’ve heard Chinese Democracy and it rocks, dude. In fact, I sing on one of the songs, ‘Sorry.’ He’s so prolific, dude, that he’s recorded enough material for at least three albums, and it’s all fucking awesome. The same car on a bigger road

After more than a year as a member of Guns N’ Roses, Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal looks back at his time with the legendary rock n’ roll band. Ron speaks of playing GN’R covers in a band called Leonard Nimoy, performing “Don’t Cry” with Axl in Japan, jamming with Izzy Stradlin, how he became a member of the band – and not least the culinary highlights of life on the road.

The time is set, and when the clock strikes 11am, I phone up Ron – well-prepared with questions that should ensure an interview of a considerable length. I myself am placed in sunny Santa Barbara on the west coast, while Ron is three time zones away in his home in New Jersey. He is, in fact, busy recording in his home studio when I call him. He apologizes kindly for being busy and postpones the interview a couple of hours, and then calls me up and postpones it a tad more. Oh, well, no biggie – after all, Guns N’ Roses are notorious for being late, so no surprise that a little delay is occurring here.

It’s four o’ clock, and I give it another go. I’m in luck, and the interview can begin. He’s still in the studio, which is in the midst of thorough renovation. He’s clearly excited and gives a basic rundown of the activities happening.

- Me and Frank were just laying some drum and guitar tracks to a song for this rapper, and we’re doing it at my studio. I had my studio all taken apart while I rebuild this one big room, and I just put all the equipment back in there. You should see what it looks like where we’re playing! The walls are just wood with insulation hanging out of them and wires sticking out for the outlets that aren’t in yet. There’s no ceiling, it’s just beams going up to the roof, his drum set, a bunch of mics, my computer setup, and my amp, and it’s the complete opposite of everything you would imagine on MTV Cribs or anything like that. As ghetto a studio as you can possibly imagine! We don’t even have walls. But it sounds great, it sounds amazing. We got the coolest drum sound and everything just came out great. Frank might go meet with the record label, and I have to go to south Jersey and do a photo and video shoot for a guitar magazine, that’ll be coming out later in the year.

Who are you recording the song for?

- I can’t say. But he’s good and he’s got a cool song, and we had fun playing on it.

A few musicians get to experience a transition of the kind that Ron has experienced. A lot of less known musicians get to play with big legends, but not many fill out as prominent a position as Ron does in Guns N’ Roses, playing lead guitar alongside Robin Finck. It’s impossible to imagine that a rock musician as Ron didn’t encounter Guns N’ Roses around the same time as the rest of the world did – 20 years ago when “Appetite For Destruction” destructed the rules of rock n’ roll in the 80’s. And sure enough – his earliest memory of the band is not unlike that of many others.

- That would be about 3 o’ clock in the morning, watching MTV. I think I was 17. I remember seeing this video for the song “Welcome To The Jungle”, and I was pretty blown away. Every once in a while you see a band that you just know has something special about them, and they most definitely did.

Back then, as a musician, did you rock out to the music and dream of, at some point, being a member of the band?

- No, I never considered it. To me it just wasn’t something that would have been a possibility. Especially, I mean, at that time – you know, if you see a band come out that you like, the first thing you say is not, “wow, I sure hope that band members leave and I get to join!”

Maybe not actually becoming a member, but more just dreaming about it, pretending that you were – playing cover songs and stuff like that.

- I did have a cover band back then. What cover songs were we doing at the time… We were doing covers of GN’R.

Yeah? Which ones?

- We’d do “Brownstone”, “My Michelle”, uh, what else… I think we did “Jungle”. A bunch of stuff off of Appetite. I had a band called Leonard Nimoy – you know, the guy on Star Trek? He played Spock – and we would do covers of AC/DC, Kiss and Aerosmith, Guns, and… It’s pretty funny, we would – no, I shouldn’t even get into that story, it’s too much! We just did some crazy shit.

Can you describe the transition from being a solo musician to quite suddenly being a member of GN’R, playing venues for thousands upon thousands of people?

- Oh man… How is it different... Strangely enough, it doesn’t feel that different. You know, I’ve been asked this a lot – how does it feel to be playing in front of a hundred thousand people after playing in front of, maybe, a thousand? And the funny thing is that the whole idea of playing music – everything you do when you play, it comes from within, and that doesn’t change. So, in a sense, it’s like I’m just driving the same car on a bigger road. If anything, you drive a little faster! (Laughs) But yeah, it feels the same. It never felt unnatural to play with these guys, especially because they’re a good bunch of people, and that’s what makes the difference in the band you’re playing with, whether you’re playing in some local band or with Guns N’ Roses or a band like that. If you genuinely enjoy being on stage with the people you’re on stage with, everything is okay.

And I assume you do enjoy being a member of the band?

- No, I hate them! (Laughs as he’s obviously joking) It’s been well over a year now, and we’ve become better friends, and I’m just more happy to see them every time we get together.

I was gonna ask that – how is the atmosphere in the band? Is it professional, friendly, partying, or what?

- I was just over Frank’s house for a barbecue, hanging out, enjoying ourselves. And then yesterday and today we were in my studio recording stuff (no, not for Guns N’ Roses), and while we’re doing that we might make a call to Chris Pitman to say hello and see how he’s doing. It's great.

So did you know any of the members of the band personally before you joined?

- I didn’t know any of them personally. Surprisingly, because a lot of us have backgrounds where we have the same friends. I’ll be talking to Frank’s friends about people I hung out with 20 years ago that I still talk to, and they still talk to them. Frank was around back then in the same circle of friends, and it’s funny that we never met before we were playing together in Guns. It’s strange how that worked.

Do you have a story of how you became a member of the band?
- Actually, I got an e-mail from Joe Satriani saying “Listen, I just recommended you to Guns. They’re looking for a guitar player – so if they get in touch, just so you know, it’s not somebody playing a joke on you or anything.” I was like, “alright, cool.” And Chris Pitman e-mailed me this funny e-mail, I gave him a call, we talked for a while, and he was a great guy. Started talking to management, and everything looked like it was on track. And then some Internet rumors came out that sort of delayed the process, haha.
So when were you first in contact with the band?
- It had to be around summer, late summer of 2004, that we started talking.
Your latest solo album deals with the concept of normality. Is Guns N’ Roses a normal band to be in?

- Haha, what do you think?

I thought it was a clever question!

- You know, I don’t have many other bands as big as Guns N’ Roses that I can compare it to. So it (the album “Normal”) is supposed to say, “what is normal”? And normal is just what you consider normal.

“Don’t Cry” with Axl in Japan

So, if anyone ever had a hard time telling the many guitar players of the band apart, then you have been noticed for your rendition of “Don’t Cry”. And then on the tour you just did in Japan, then that part of the show where you did “Don’t Cry” suddenly became the extraordinary encore with Axl singing the song for the first time in 14 years. Can you tell me about that – how it came about, and how it felt to be on stage during that song?

- Yeah… We were heading off stage, and then turned back around, went up there and did it.
How come you hadn’t done it during the actual part of the show, like you usually do?

- It’s always different. It may not seem like it when you read the set lists online, but it's never the same show. A lot of times the things that seem significant to you go very unnoticed by other people, then something subtle like, “let’s do “Don’t Cry” in a different spot”, people take a big notice to that – especially with Axl singing it, of course.

So, was it planned?

- It was kind of spontaneous. It was just like “let’s do it”, and I was like, “Yeah? Alright. Let’s give it to them.”
What have been your highlights of touring the world with Guns N’ Roses for well over a year now?

- Things that stand out… First thing that popped into my head when you asked me that was when we were playing in Poland. It was a little Mexican restaurant across the street from the hotel, and me and Frank and a bunch of us went. We sat down at the table and they brought Frank a nice bowl of black beans, and usually black beans are just the beans in a little bit of sauce. But this time they pureed the beans, and it was the most delicious black beans I’ve ever eaten! And he was saying that’s how his mom used to make them. That’s the first thing that popped into my head – the pureed black beans at a Mexican restaurant in Poland. Next thing that pops into my head would be backstage when we were playing in Oslo, Norway. They had this salad that had cashews and hot red peppers in it. It was a spicy, Thai-style cashew salad. It was very good. That’s the second thing that popped into my head. In case you’re wondering, yeah – I am a little bit hungry!

Oh yeah, apparently! So, do you have any onstage highlights?
- Oh, onstage, alright… I don’t know, man – every night just being there is a fucking highlight. And you can’t even compare – people say, “which show did you like better?”. It’s like asking “which child do you love more?”. It’s just one, big, collective great fucking time.

What’s your favorite song to play live?

- Oh, god… I don’t know, I don’t have a favorite! I suck at doing interviews, ‘cause when it comes to those questions, it sounds like I’m not answering, but it’s the total truth when I say I enjoy playing them all. There’s not a song that I don’t like. There are certain songs I like because of the energy and you get to run around, and others where I can just close my eyes and listen to the melody, as if I’m listening to the song and not even playing it. And other ones might just be more self-indulgent, because I like my own guitar part in it or something like that, or even just a singing part.

Don’t you have one song, though, that you’re looking forward to during the show?

- Hmm… I like doing “Chinese”, ‘cause I get to play the fretless. And what else… “Nightrain” is fun. I love when Robin first kicks into Sweet Child O’ Mine and does that intro riff and the whole audience just, you know, erupts. And every time I have to smile, I can’t help it – it just puts a big smile on my face, ‘cause I know that the people are happy and enjoying themselves. That’s why we’re there.

It seems inevitable that some people, including both fans and critics, won’t be truly happy about GN’R until the Appetite line-up gets back together. What are your feelings about that?

- How can I even answer? I mean…
More in the terms of if it’s something that you think about, get frustrated about, or just don’t even care about?

- It’s not something I think about. I don’t think about the past. I respect everything that the band was in that time, as well as any time – any time before I was in the band, I have the utmost respect for the band and what they accomplished, but you can’t keep thinking about the past. I have to think about what we’re gonna do next and what we can do better right now. I just don’t think about that stuff. It was great then, and it's great now.

So, how did it feel playing with Izzy, who’s kind of a bridge between the two eras of Guns N’ Roses?

- Izzy’s a sweet guy, I really enjoy spending time with him. He’s a cool guy to hang with. We always had fun playing on stage. It was funny – one of the last shows that we were doing together, we were backstage and we were working out a song – “The Devil Went Down To Georgia”. It’s a southern song from the late 70’s, and it has this really fast violin stuff in it, and we worked it out. I was doing the violin part, and he was strumming the chords. It was cool, but we didn’t play it on stage. He’s a real nice guy and I definitely enjoyed his company.
Do you have any funny anecdotes about touring with Sebastian Bach?
- Oh man, what can I say, so many... but I shouldn't, haha! They’re too funny and… You just had to be there! He’s a fun guy. On the last tour, we went out to dinner a lot, Sebastian and his band, hanging out… And, he’s a very funny guy. He’s like a light switch that’s always on! And if you try to shut it off – it has two settings, on… and on! He’s just non-stop. Love the guy, and his band!

What are your views of rock n’ roll today?

- I think I have a biased opinion about it, but I think it’s in okay shape. Everything will not be the same as it was. There’s always gonna be a time in your life where the music meant something to you and the music represented a time when you have the best memories and you were just… And that can never come around again. You know, I will always love grunge. So, at a time when Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Nirvana – to me, that was a very special time, and when I think back on it, I don’t always think of the music. I think of how I felt and it brings me back to that feeling, and it was a good feeling.

So what are you feeling today, when you’re listening to contemporary rock?

- There are a lot of good bands out there. There’s so much music that’s accessible to you, so sometimes it can be harder to find new bands that you really dig. But there are some great fucking bands out there. It’s not bad, you know – any time in music, there are certain styles that are so strong that they make such an impact, and five years later, you’re laughing at the way everybody did their hair and stuff like that. You know, people might be laughing at emo haircuts in a few years, but then 20 years later everyone’s gonna have them again.
Do you have any current favorites?

- Muse will always be a band that I just love. As far as, like, modern bands today… Well, Chris Cornell’s solo work I love. I don’t know if that really counts – that might just be a bridge to all the grunge stuff that I was talking about! I don’t know. I’m trying to think about, what are some cool bands that are out there… I like My Chemical Romance. They write great songs and put on a great show. There's an album I just finished mixing of a band called Return To Earth – they're friends of mine, Chris Pennie from Dillinger Escape Plan, Coheed, and Cambria on drums, Q*Ball on vocals, Brett Aveni on guitar. The music is kinda like a Queens Of the Stone Age vibe, very cool stuff – nice vocal harmonies. Can't get their songs out of my head!

So how do you think Guns N’ Roses fit into the current rock n’ roll scene?

- How do we fit in? I think Guns fits in the way a lot of bands that have been around a long time fit in – they’re an exception to the rule. You know, bands like U2, Aerosmith, Kiss, The Rolling Stones – they can do whatever they want for the rest of time, and they’ll always be Kiss, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith… You know, I think that Guns N’ Roses – and again, I’m biased – I think we fall into the category of standing the test of time, and if you go to a Guns show today, you won’t be disappointed hearing songs from 20 years ago or one that leaked a few years ago!

What’s in the cards for Guns N’ Roses now – are you all asking Axl that question from the Sweet Child O’ Mine outro; where do we go now?

- (Laughs and sings) “Where do we go now…” I can not talk about future plans or anything like that. Those things need to come out when the time is right and everything is confirmed, so… That question I cannot answer. That question will be answered, though, in time, by the right people, and I’m looking forward to things coming up.

So you’re optimistic about the future?

- I think whatever is going to happen is meant to happen, and you can’t spend time wishing for something else, when it’s not possible. You have to flow with life, and whatever happens, you've got to accept it and say “this is what was meant to be”. If that makes me optimistic, then yeah, I’m optimistic! It’s basically just accepting that which we cannot change.

And with an answer as delicately unspecific as expected, the interview comes to a close. What remains is an image of a man who remains with both (bumble)feet on the ground, although he has fairly suddenly become part of the big rock n’ roll machinery that is Guns N’ Roses. The general attitude that once in a while makes Ron seem a tad unimpressed – such when he’d rather talk about pureed beans than playing Madison Square Garden – only makes him a tad more human.

Becoming a member of Guns N’ Roses and then turning into a prima donna could have been one way to go – but for Ron, it appears to have had somewhere near the opposite effect. On top of the chaos that surrounded the original line-up as well as predecessor Buckethead, Ron appears to be a stabilizing factor. Fans around the world are encouraged to adopt Ron’s optimism, cross their fingers and await the next move in the world of Guns N’ Roses with the same calmness.

AXL ROSE TO APPEAR ON SEBASTIAN BACH'S NEW ALBUM, 'ANGEL DOWN'

Bas asked me to sing on his new record, "Angel Down," and I agreed and came down to his studio where he played me the tracks. I really liked the title/opening track, "Angel Down," but I didn't feel that it would be right to be on that one, although, of course, it would've been cool because it's a great rip-your-head-off track!!

Since this session was rather a more fun atmosphere, the tracks I sang on kind of showed themselves and were also done out of curiosity on the part of Bas, myself, and his producer, Roy Z, just to see if my involvement brought something that worked for the tracks.

Bas really wanted me on "Bitchslap," and I got to try my own ideas on it. We're not saying much about the second track, as it may be taken a bit further, and when Bas played the third track, "Stuck Inside," he suggested a kind of call-and-answer part. They allowed me the freedom to write my own words and melodies, and although it's only a couple of lines, it really felt great. The song has such a mean riff, and Bas' guys were so supportive in so many ways on tour and fun to hang with, that it was great to be a part of something of theirs and I think it really came out strong.

For me, the three songs together are a good package. They are all different, with different approaches and styles from each other and from material I have on the upcoming Guns N’ Roses record. For me, the timing couldn’t be better and I’m quite surprised to be on one song, let alone three!!!

Bas really knew where he saw my involvement on his album and had different options in mind. He knew what seemed obvious, what would be fun, what would work for his album and what he felt I would like. I really liked the energy of the tracks and since I'm rarely asked to do anything I'd actually enjoy or be glad to be a part of, I'm more than grateful for the opportunity and hope the fans get a kick out of it as well.

Q: I understand that you recently did some work in the studio with Axl Rose on one of your new songs [Note: Before the interview being conducted, BLABBERMOUTH.NET was informed that Axl had only recorded a guest appearance on "(Love Is) A Bitchslap"]. Is that still being worked on right now or are you already done with all the recordings?

Sebastian: It's already done, dude. It's in the can.

Q: Wasn't the single already submitted to radio a couple of weeks ago?

Sebastian: That's an early version. I wasn't finished [with] the record, but the roughs that I did [are] really amazing. [Laughs]

The CD that I made that got me the record with Jason Flom [former A&R rep at Atlantic Records, now Chairman and CEO of Capitol Music Group] and Jack Ponti [CEO of Merovingian Music, Ltd. (MRV)] is a really good CD, but it wasn't finished. The one song, "(Love Is) A Bitchslap", premiered in the "Trailer Park Boys" in Canada, but then they did put it out to radio, but it wasn't completed. That's one version of the song that's at radio now that still kicks ass, but we've worked on it even harder.

Basically, the collaboration with me and Axl started when he asked me last December to sing on… I was at his house and he was playing me the new "Chinese Democracy" album — actually, there's more than one; there's, like, four — but he was playing a song called "Sorry", which is a very heavy, grinding kind of riff and we were partying and stuff and I started singing a high harmony on the chorus of this song and he flipped out, and he goes, "That sounds great." He goes, "I want you to sing that on the record." So in January, I went to Electric Lady [studios in New York City], and I sang the chorus of this song "Sorry", and it came out really, really amazing. So now that I'm finishing my record, just for the fun of it, when I got to L.A., I just texted Axl, I go, "Hey, dude, when are you gonna come and sing on my record?" I was just joking. [Laughs] I didn't think he would do that. But he never ceases to amaze me. And his response was, "When? Where? What time? Where is the studio? What time do you want me there?" I was, like, "You've gotta be fucking kidding me." I go, "Pinch me, I'm dreaming." So he came down on Tuesday night, I think, or Wednesday, and he sang… He sings two songs on the record. I don't wanna say which songs, really — I don't know if I should or not — but he sings two songs.

Q: Well, I was told that he's on "(Love Is) A Bitchslap".

Sebastian: Oh, you were already told that? OK, well, that's' one. [Laughs] He sings on that, yes, and it's unbelievable — his voice is like a razor; it just really cuts, and it's an amazing thing for me. It's kind of like a duet — he's not just in the background, it's more of a prominent sound. And there's another song that he sings on, too. [But] I'll leave that to your imagination. But he's in fact on two songs on the record.

It's kind of like… I have this one BOB DYLAN record called "Nashville Skyline" where Johnny Cash sings a lot on the record with Bob Dylan. I know it's not Blabbermouth territory, but it's a really good album and it's an amazing thing. I've always wondered how it would be [having] two singers in the band, like THE ALLMAN BROTHERS have two drummers. Me and Axl going back and forth, and he takes a line and I then I take a line and then we do harmonies, it's really cool to hear. It's really an amazing thing for my record. To have him come in and do that, it's mind-blowing. And there's actually another song that he wants to sing on called "Stuck Inside" that he loves, and I'm gonna get him a CD of that, so he might be on three [songs], but right now he's on two. And I am the luckiest guy in the world, for him to come and put his voice on my record. And then I asked him yesterday, "Can I talk about this and everything?" And he was like, "Yes." He goes, "Tell everybody, tell the whole fucking world." I'm like, "Cool. OK." [Laughs]

Q: Did he actually choose the songs [to sing on] then?

Sebastian: Yes. Absolutely. He came into the studio, I played him my whole record, and he chose "Bitchslap" and there's another song. I don't wanna give it all away quite yet 'cause the album is not out 'till November 20.

Q: It's not the AEROSMITH cover, is it?

Sebastian: Who told you this?

Q: No one told me but it seemed kind of like an obvious choice, perhaps.

Sebastian: What AEROSMITH cover? What are you talking about?

Q: Isn't "Back in the Saddle" on the record?

Sebastian [apparently unaware that a press release had been issued that morning containing details of his new CD]: Who told you..? Can I just ask you who told you this?

Q: There was a press release that was put out this morning with some of this information. It didn't include any information about Axl, but it included a lot of the details about the record, including most of the songtitles and information about, like, songwriting credits and things like that. So I was aware of the fact that the AEROSMITH cover was on there. So is that the other song [that Axl sings on]? [Laughs]

Sebastian: I'm not gonna say… [Changing subject] Yesterday I shot the TV show "L.A. Ink" and Kat Von D tattooed my new album cover on my arm, which you'll see on TV. And then that's an amazing thing, too. The album cover was done by my dad.

Spelades sist, efter Paradise City, under dagens konsert i Japan. Det här är officiella meddelandet från gunsnroses.com:

Over 17,000 fans braved a typhoon and packed into the Makuhari Messe Hall in Chiba City to witness the first concert by Guns N' Roses in Japan in five years.

From the opening strains of "Welcome to the Jungle" until the last explosion of the final encore, "Paradise City," GN'R had the sold-out crowd screaming for more. So Axl gave them what they wanted. After the sweat-drenched band had taken its final bow and was walking to the dressing room, Axl called a spontaneous audible. Axl and guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal went back to the stage and did a rare duet of "Don't Cry." Despite the nasty weather, the two-hour set was a smashing success.

Japanese fans of the band have been waiting with patience and anticipation for Guns N' Roses to return to Japan for the concert dates that had been postponed earlier this year because of an injury suffered by bassist Tommy Stinson.

There is another concert scheduled for the Makuhari Messe on Sunday night. The tour then moves to Nagoya on Tuesday, July 17, for a show at Nippon Gaishi Hall, Wednesday at Budokan Hall in Toyko, and the final show is set for Saturday, July 21, at the Osaka-Jo Hall in Osaka.

Guns N' Roses Live Earth Press Release

Guns N' Roses or myself will not be performing at Rio Live Earth or Live Earth for a couple of reasons. The first is that we were not asked until the last couple weeks while we were on tour in Australia and have upcoming sold-out dates already rescheduled in Japan. Our gear is already en route to Japan for these shows. We have attempted to find a solution to be able to perform in Rio, but unfortunately none has been suggested.

I was asked to perform individually with Lenny Kravitz by the promoters and Mr. Gore. As we were working this out, Lenny unfortunately became injured and temporarily canceled his involvement from the event. According to the promoters, by the time they had reconfirmed Lenny's performance, there wasn't enough time to arrange flights for myself to Brazil and then to Japan for our upcoming shows. Unfortunately, I was not informed that Lenny's performance was reconfirmed until our own explorations and in following the media surrounding the event today, which is Saturday morning here in Australia and Friday in Brazil.

Guns N' Roses or I were not asked to play anywhere else such as Japan or Australia (as we are already in the regions on tour) and in which we have formally offered to perform but the offer of our involvement was declined.

We wish all involved, the performers, the organizers, the fans and audiences around the world all the best and a very successful event.

Var det ett år sedan Guns N' Roses spelade i Stockholm. Tiden har gått fort förbi, redan ett år sedan man stod längst fram och hängde på staket i väntan på bandet, och spelningen sedan. Total eufori!

I'm reaching out to you because I'm helping out with a benefit show (www.krugeraid.com] that was in Waseca, Minn., on June 9 at the Waseca Fairgrounds. It was a day-long event of music, food and family activities. On February 3, 2007, my sister-in-law, Hilary Kruger, and her family were devastated in a horrible act of violence when a stranger broke into their home and murdered her husband, Tracy, and Alec, one of her two young sons.

Golden Smog and Soul Asylum, as well as some very special guests, DJs, etc., played this show. If I wasn't currently on tour with GN'R, I would have played on this bill. En kille sprang på Axl igår kväll, hans brev kan du läsa nedan. För övrigt så vill jag ha tag i en likadan jacka som Axl har här, ser jävligt skön ut! Så om du funderar på min nästa julklapp, eller bara allmänt vill tillbedja mig, så vet du vad du ska köpa!

Ok what better way to top off the weekend. First my footy team won, second the other local footy time (that I hate) lost by one point. Then I went to the GN'R concert on Sunday night. Perfect weekend!!! Well it just got waaaay better last night. A mate and I managed to meet Axl and get a photo and a couple of autographs!!!! We also met the rest of the band through the course of the night. I managed to get Axl to autograph my sealed copy of Live Like a Suicide. I also managed to get a drum head signed by Axl, Robin, Dizzy, Tommy, Richard. I missed out on BBF even though he was right there, we were a little star struck with Axl and they had walked off before - before we realised what had happened.

I felt like a bit of a dick for not asking BBF. Basically, Axl turned up with BBF, Beta, Vanessa and a couple of other people. So we got the autograph and photo then let them go then realised we hadn't asked BBF - damn! Saw Del James there too and also met Fernando. We sat chatting to their two drivers for a couple of hours about various stuff while we had a few drinks (not the drivers) and waited for band members to come past so we could get a quick autograph. The drivers told us a bit of stuff (although they were professional and didn't reveal anything personal) just some general stuff about what they had been doing etc. Apparently Del did mentioned the new album to one of them. Anyhow, I was wrapped with how obliging Axl was. He was very humble and very softly spoken he also cracked a couple of jokes. I am about 6 foot tall and my mate is about 6" 4'. When I was taking the photo of those two, Axl joked that we need to get Angry Anderson here because at least Axl is taller than Angry. My mate says to Axl "I have been waiting 20 years for this moment" - lol We obviously complimented them on what a great time we had and how good the show was. Axl laughed and said it wasn't too bad for a band that hadn't released an album and a singer that can't sing.

My mate said how crap the Burswood Dome was for holding concerts and how the pressurised interior of the Dome causes problems, Axl said he hadn't realised until afterwards that it was pressurised. He mentioned that it was causing him some problems while singing so he was fiddling with his earpiece trying to work out what was going on. My mate also cheekily said "whats the deal, you didn't play Rocket Queen last night". Axl just laughed. Anyhow, that's about it. Enjoy the pics, I can't wait for the 2 Melbourne concerts now I fly over there tomorrow.

Först vill jag be om ursäkt för att bloggen varit något seg med uppdateringar på senaste, jag har haft datorstrul utan dess like. Efter ett tiotal omformateringar och hundratals svordomar så tvingas jag nu använda Windows Vista, men det verkar fungera! Guns har efter handskador och inställda spelningar gjorts sina första konserter 2007! Bilder, videos och låtlistor hittar du nedan. Jag är glad att dom spelar igen, men något beviken faktiskt, ingen ny låt har spelats, och inte heller Chinese Democracy. Publiken i Mexico verkar dock ha varit utan dess like! I övrigt inget särskilt att notera i skillnader från konserterna 2006, möjligen då att alla i publiken har sombreros, dricker tequila, skjuter vilt i luften och skriker ARIBA ARIBA!

Då har baksmällan äntligen släppt från festen i Stockholm!
Det var en riktigt kanonkväll med mycket musik, mycket alkohol och mycket trevligt folk!

Dom flesta gästartister samt husbandet skötte sig bra, inget att klaga på! Det var en jävligt blandad publik, allt från vilsna ungdomar till nerdekade rockrävar. På plats träffade jag Steve McKagan från Guns N' Roses Sweden, och vi smed planer ihop. Onda planer. Som eventuellt involverar ett övertagande av världen. Den som lever får se.

I know I will sound arrogant saying it, but I’m going to say it anyway because it is a legitimate part of the story and a large reason why I was successful:

My IQ is 155.

Let’s rewind a bit to when “darknemus” tricked “GNR Sucks” and was able to secure a demo of Madagascar. I’d always had positive experiences with “darknemus” and admired his dedication to helping the fans hear new music. When he was able to use nothing but bullshit to get us Madagascar, it really made me think. Maybe bullshit was the only thing that could ever get us new music. Maybe the fans have put up with so much bullshit over the years that bullshit was all we had. Maybe the one thing that frustrated us for so long, bullshit, could actually be the thing that helped us in the end . . .

Well, love me or hate me, when it comes to bullshit, I am king. Again, it feels so awful to say it, but it’s true, I have an extraordinary level of intelligence. When I finished elementary school, I was forced to participate in an experimental program where 6th graders would be bussed across the county to take college classes. It has its advantages and disadvantages. It’s a blessing and a curse. They say there is a fine line between genius and insanity and “they” are right. I live it every day. Sometimes it is great. Sometimes it isn’t. When I posted “The Truth Is Coming” was one of those times where it was awful. To those that feel I am a cock tease, I truly apologize. I really needed a break. I was about to crack.

Anyway, I suddenly felt this overwhelming responsibility to use my mind to try to get us more songs. Keep in mind I am not an insider. Before all of this, I barely read the boards at all. I would IM “dave2k” a couple of times a month to see if anything new was going on with GNR. In theory I was not the man for this job, but I was so inspired by “darknemus” that I decided I should try something. At worst, maybe a few GNR fans that liked wrestling would find out who I am. At best, maybe I could trick someone into sending me some new clips that I could leak.

I needed a plan. I had no contacts. Nothing to trade. No nothing really. So, I decided the only way this could work would be if people thought maybe they could get money for their songs. Offer a few grand online, maybe someone thinks I am for real, I ask for clips, they send, I leak, the end. Simple enough, right? I picked $1,000 per song to start and planned to up the offer every week until someone contacted me or people got so sick of my shenanigans that I got banned from every major board. I posted the offer on mygnrforum.com just to see what would happen. Much to my disappointment, my post was deleted within a few minutes. I hadn’t saved what I typed and I didn’t really feel like typing it again, so I figured that was it. Game over. The experiment was done. However, in the few minutes my offer was up, I guess someone saved it because before long it had been posted on chinesedemocracy.com and rosesofvelvet.com. I quickly copied it in case the threads got pulled and decided to ride the wave since someone took the time to post what I wrote.

As expected, there was a wide range of responses to what I was doing . . . or at least what people thought I was doing. Some called me crazy for offering the money, some called me a hero, but nobody had any way of knowing what I really had in mind. I was pleased with the amount of responses and if all else failed, at least I got some attention. While it’s nice making money playing music and wrestling, at the end of the day, I think most performers do what they do because deep down they crave attention. That may not be a good thing, but I’m not afraid to be honest about myself, even if it means coming across as an egotistical, delusional, yet somewhat charming enigma. I am what I am.

I was surprised that there wasn’t more interest in my offer of $1,000. However, I realized that making it known that I was intending to leak the songs would scare people off. For my plan to work, I knew it could take some time. I needed the paranoia to start to set in and eat away at the minds of the hoarders. Many of you picked up on the fact that what I was doing was similar to the movie Ransom. That movie was definitely an inspiration for my strategy. I upped the money to $2,500, but deliberately worded my offer in a vague manner. Some would interpret it as $2,500 per song while others would read the offer and come away thinking the offer was $2,500 total. I felt confusion would be a good thing because maybe a hoarder would wonder whether the offer was $2,500 or $5,000 and then contact me to find out. At the end of the day, for anything good to happen, a hoarder had to reach out to me. I was playing a major game of mindfuck and needed to come across as sincere yet a little off balance.

Even with the increased offer, legitimate inquiries were non-existent. Everybody was either a fake or was a naïve kid that didn’t understand what was going on and thought I was looking for live clips of the songs. I was receiving hundreds of emails, calls, PMs, and IMs, but had nothing to show for it. Keeping up with everything had become basically a 24 hour a day job. With so many people in so many different time zones, it was never safe to sleep or leave the house, but I tried to sleep when I could. By Wednesday I was ready to throw in the towel, but then the new Marilyn Manson album leaked. As much as I love GNR, I love Marilyn Manson 10x more and was so excited that I was able to stay up the rest of the day without much of a problem. The album is fucking awesome and I must have listened to it on repeat for over 12 hours while I continued to answer all of the messages I was receiving.

Through all of this, I had a few people I trusted who were a great help. In addition to supplying information, they supplied emotional support, something I desperately needed. I am manic depressive and there were times where I didn’t want to do this anymore, but they would encourage me to keep trying. They know who they are and I hope that every
time they see someone type “MSL IS GOD” that they realize every star needed to be aligned for me to pull this off and that they were very important stars. They practically begged me to get some sleep and so at 8AM, I went to bed.

“Come on MSL. This is fucking bullshit. Nobody gives a crap about your stupid life. Why am I reading this? I want to hear about the songs.”

Ok, you’re right. I’m sorry.

I woke up at noon on Thursday and went straight to my computer. I checked my email to see if I’d missed anything during my four hours of sleep and sure enough I had. Finally, something had gone right. Someone from Portugal who was trying to sell me the songs actually sent a 53 second clip that contained enough of Chinese Democracy and The Blues for me to know that they had the songs. I did it. I got someone to send a clip. It’s over. I’ll just leak the clip and explain that my plan all along was to get a clip and then I’ll move on with my life. Some will be happy to hear more of the songs and some will say I’m lame for lying about offering money for tracks. Whatever, no big deal, right?

Well, before I could do that, my phone rang. The person on the other end claimed to be from Spain and said they had most of Chinese Democracy and would sell it for $2,500 per song. I started to shake. I didn’t know what to do. Was this for real? After all the non-sense, did I really just wake up to a clip in my email box and a phone call from a hoarder? My phone was about to die, so I ran downstairs to find my charger. The hoarder, who I’ll refer to as Mr. Spain, proceeded to play me several songs over the phone. I couldn’t believe it. Chinese Democracy, The Blues, a new version of Madagascar, songs I’d never heard before, he played all sorts of stuff. He said his phone card was about to expire and asked me to call him back. I said I would and hung up the phone. I immediately tried to call him back, but I guess my parent’s cell phone plan, which my phone is a part of, doesn’t allow for international calls. The guy mentioned on the phone that he was one of the people that had been PM’ing me on chinesedemocracy.com, so I rushed upstairs to PM him and explain that I couldn’t call him back.

Hindsight being 20/20, I would have done so much differently, which is something I’ll get into much more later, but I couldn’t believe I didn’t find a way to record the phone call. Mr. Spain mentioned that only one person had Prostitute and that he was trying to trade for it and had heard it on the phone. I should have asked if the “checkmate” clip was really Prostitute. I should have written down lyrics from the two songs I’d never heard before. I should have done a lot of things, but I was caught so off guard that I dropped the ball a bit. I hadn’t replied to the email from Portugal either and my head was spinning. Mr. Spain told me so much in such a short time, I was trying to remember everything he said. He mentioned that a friend or close relative of his was dating a band member. That is how he got access to the disc(s) he stole. He had 9 songs in all. Six that he gave to his underlings (CD, The Blues, IRS, Maddy, TWAT, and Better) and three that he kept to himself (a newer version of Maddy and two songs I’d never heard before). I didn’t know if I would ever talk to him again and I certainly didn’t have the $20,000 he wanted for all of the songs.

I collected my thoughts and decided to respond to the guy in Portugal, who I will refer to from now on as Mr. Portugal. I told Mr. Portugal that I had received his clips and would like to buy the songs. Sometimes it isn’t what you say, but how you say it. I guess I have a way with words because nobody seemed to question whether I really had the money or not or whether I was trustworthy or not. Mr. Portugal replied to let me know that he changed his mind and did not want to sell the songs anymore. He said he didn’t feel right making money off the band’s work and also did not want the songs to leak. While it seemed like bad news, at least I had him talking. We traded stories about GNR and I tried to convince him that I never had any intention of leaking and only said that to play the hoarders against each other. Eventually he mentioned that he was a musician and I let him know that I was a musician as well. He said that his birthday was coming up and that if I would buy him his dream guitar that he would send me the songs as long as I didn’t leak them. I won’t go into great detail because this whole thing is going to end up being way too long anyway, but basically we agreed that he would send me a link to the guitar he wanted and that I would buy it and have it shipped to him. I didn’t know what currency the site used, but knew enough to know that we were possibly talking around $6,000.

I told him we had a deal, but in matters like this there is a big difference between having a deal and really having a deal. He proposed that I buy the guitar and forward him the invoice. He would send one song upon receiving the invoice and another song upon receiving the guitar. Well, that certainly wouldn’t work because I wasn’t really going to buy the guitar. I argued that his request was unreasonable because he could end up with the guitar and just not send the songs. That wouldn’t actually be possible because I could easily cancel the order if he didn’t send the first song, but I had to try to be slick. I said that I had no idea who he was and led him to believe that I was a very famous wrestler in America, hoping he wouldn’t realize that only a small portion of wrestling fans actually follow the smaller independent companies that I work for. I also told him that I was risking thousands while he was only risking letting one more person hear some songs. With all the risk on me in theory, my counter proposal was that I be sent one song first and then would immediately buy the guitar and send him the invoice. I asked that once he received the invoice that I be sent the second song.

Never for a second did I think I would actually get a song, but I figured I might as well see it all through before it inevitably ended in nothing and then I could leak the clips of Chinese Democracy and The Blues. Incredibly, he accepted my counter offer and sent me Chinese Democracy. I couldn’t believe it. I HAD CHINESE DEMOCRACY!!! I did the impossible. Just like “darknemus” before me, with nothing but bullshit, I had secured us a new song. Tears began to stream down my face. Before I could even open the file, my phone rang. It was someone from a major wrestling company that I do consultant work for. I make most of my living with these consultant gigs and really do the actual in ring wrestling for fun. I could not blow off the call. After about 15 minutes, I was finally able to get off the phone. I played the file and it was real. Whoever had been IM’ing me at the time received the good news. This would come back to haunt me, but I never expected to get one song and getting more was not on my mind at all. I had Chinese Democracy and soon so would everyone else.

I quickly checked my email and saw that Mr. Portugal was very upset. He sent a song and I had seemingly vanished. Honestly, since I never expected him to send, I had no plan in place for what I would do if he did send. I emailed him immediately to let him know that I had received an important phone call and was very sorry. I told him I’d order his guitar right away and send him the invoice. I had to scramble. I needed to do something, anything. If it didn’t work, cool, but I had a chance at another song and had to act fast. I decided to order an inexpensive item from the site so I could see what their invoices looked like. I bought a $5 guitar cord, which in theory should be showing up at my house eventually. Maybe I’ll use it to record some new songs. Anyway, I got the email confirmation for the $5 item and got to work. I had just a minute or two to create an invoice for the expensive guitar. Mr. Portugal had ordered from this site before and knew everything about the guitar. I didn’t think I would be able to fool him. I did everything I could to quickly create a believable invoice for the guitar and emailed it to him. I didn’t think it had any chance of working, but then again, I never thought I’d get a song, so what did I know? Sure enough, he bought the ruse hook, line, and sinker. He sent me The Blues immediately and then followed with another email letting me know that he was going to bed and that when he got home from work the next day he would send me everything else he had as an added bonus. More songs tomorrow? What was going on? I now had Chinese Democracy and The Blues and was being promised who knows how many more songs. I’d hit the fucking jackpot. The world was going to love me. It was time to celebrate.

Or was it? It was only a matter of time until he found out there was no guitar. He could call the music store at any time and find out what was up. He was probably planning on calling from work the next day. If he really had more songs, I needed to try to get them right away before it was too late. I wrote up a short email begging him to send one more song before he went to bed. It was worth a shot right? Within a few minutes, he’d sent the new version of IRS. My jaw dropped. I now had three songs. I started with nothing and now had the two songs everyone wanted plus another we didn’t even know about. I was on cloud nine. However, I soon realized that cloud nine was not all that it was cracked up to be. When I received Chinese Democracy, I thought that was the end of the adventure. Because of things I said and did shortly after receiving the songs, cloud nine probably had nine people on it. What if they said something online? Worse, what if one of them leaked Chinese Democracy? Whether Mr. Portugal found out about the guitar or not, he’d find out I actually did intend to share the songs and our chance to get even more songs the next day would be ruined.

I immediately went to work getting the word out that everyone had to calm down until I was done with Mr. Portugal. As a thank you to some of the people who had been there for me during the rough times, I sent them The Blues and IRS. Everyone knew nothing was to be leaked or mentioned until after I got more songs from Mr. Portugal the next day. Shortly after, I received a call from Mr. Spain. I told him I already had the songs and was no longer interested in buying them from him. He flipped out. FLIPPED THE FUCK OUT. He went on a rant about how only people in Portugal had the songs and they were not to be shared with anyone outside of Portugal. A few things became clear. Obviously, he was not from Spain after all, he was from Portugal. Let’s refer to him as Fake Spain from now on. Another thing I realized was that a lot of this had to do with some bizarre nationalistic inferiority complex. Apparently, the fans in Portugal did not feel they were getting enough respect and having these songs made them feel more important than other fans around the world and especially the American fans. Fake Spain explained that he had given some of the songs to certain fans in Portugal (including “GNR Sucks”) and explained that he would find out who was giving me songs and make it stop.

I soon received an email from Mr. Portugal letting me know that he had been woken up by Fake Spain and that Fake Spain told him I was about to leak everything. I decided to play Mr. Portugal and Fake Spain against each other. I told Mr. Portugal that Fake Spain had tried to convince me to cancel the guitar order and spend the money buying songs from him instead, but that I refused. Mr. Portugal thanked me for my loyalty and told me to ignore Fake Spain for now on. He reiterated that he would send more songs when he got home from work.

Crisis averted.

Well, there was nothing left to do but wait. Wait for Mr. Portugal to get up, wait for Mr. Portugal to go to work, and wait for Mr. Portugal to get home. It was now the middle of the night and I was afraid to go to sleep. I wanted to be able to respond immediately to any email Mr. Portugal sent. I spent the whole night reloading Outlook Express and trying to make sure nobody said anything on the boards that could jeopardize the operation. I continued to answer messages all night and told everybody to hold their horses. You would think that considering I had miraculously uncovered three songs that everyone would have been appreciative and super nice to me.

Quite the opposite.

Everyone wanted the songs leaked immediately. Suddenly, I was being labeled a hoarder. People were cursing me out, threatening to reveal everything on the boards, some even threatened to leak the songs I gave them. I couldn’t believe it. Here I was sitting at my computer Friday morning, having only slept 4 hours since Tuesday, being a slave to Outlook Express so that I could get us more songs and everyone was trying to make me feel like shit. I knew I had to stick to my guns though. There was no reason to tip off Mr. Portugal any earlier than needed, especially with more songs hanging in the balance. I monitored the boards all day while waiting for Mr. Portugal to come home. I knew I’d pulled something off that would never be forgotten. I knew I’d be labeled a “legend” or a “god” or whatever else people came up with. However, the mission was clear, GET SONGS. No reason to throw in the towel now, so I kept waiting.

Mr. Portugal came home from work and let me know he would be going to band practice. He gave me an email address of a friend of his, let’s call him Portugal 2. He told me Portugal 2 would send me some songs since Mr. Portugal would be busy at practice. I contacted Portugal 2 and explained the situation, but he wanted to check with Mr. Portugal, understandably. Portugal 2 let me know he’d be sending songs very soon. It would only be a few more minutes. At this point, I’d been through so much, time became a blur. The waiting wasn’t that bad anymore because I no longer had the capacity to know the difference between one minute and an hour. I was tired and hungry, but I knew it was almost over.

It was almost over alright. Out of nowhere, someone showed up on chinesedemocracy.com as “leaky” and leaked the three songs I’d received from Mr. Portugal. I was crushed. All this hard work. The impossible dream. I was minutes away from several more songs and someone that only had songs because of me had decided to fuck over the entire community by leaking them before it was time. Not only would we not get more songs, we’d never even know what they were. The boards went crazy as everyone scrambled to get the songs, but while everyone else was ecstatic, I was crushed. I’d just been told the songs would be coming in minutes.

MINUTES!!!

It was all over because of some stupid fuck who probably got the songs from a friend of a friend of a friend of someone I trusted. I didn’t know what I should do next, but I knew I needed to do something fast. I decided my best move was to email Mr. Portugal and Portugal 2 so that they would find out about the leaks from me instead of from someone else. When you decide to work a con, you have to work it until there is no work left to be done, so I emailed them an angry letter accusing them of screwing me. I acted like I thought they’d leaked the songs themselves since in theory they already had my money (which was really a guitar, which didn’t exist). Mr. Portugal called me immediately. Before he could say a word, I started cursing him out for leaking the songs. He was caught so off guard that he immediately apologized and blamed Fake Spain for the leaks. Apparently, Mr. Portugal and Fake Spain had been arguing all day since I played them against each other the night before without them realizing it. Mr. Portugal theorized that Fake Spain leaked the songs to punish us. Afraid that I would cancel the guitar, Mr. Portugal promised to immediately send me another song.

And he did! Wow, I was on a fucking roll. I’d been completely betrayed by whoever “leaky” was, but despite the leaks, I managed to get yet a FOURTH song. I thought I was dreaming for sure. I put the song on and couldn’t believe my ears. There Was A Time. Perfect quality. New intro. Just amazing. Fucking unbelievable. I now had an incredible new version of my favorite new GNR song. Soon, you will too. Throughout everything, I’d never posted a link anywhere or uploaded any leaks. I never will, for obvious reasons. GNR management could decide to target me, even though they wouldn’t have much success and uploading the songs online or actively participating in the leaking is just not something I could be involved with. A few of my friends have the song. When the time is right, I’m sure they’ll do what they know needs to be done. However, at this point in time, there was still work to be done. I managed to convince Mr. Portugal that I had nothing to do with the leaks and Portugal 2 said they’d send me a new version of Better with acoustic guitar.

I never did get the new Better, although I tried my hardest. At the end of the day, Mr. Portugal became too suspicious. He decided I wouldn’t be sent Better until his guitar arrived. There is no guitar and it is never arriving. It was now early Saturday morning and I’d only slept 4 hours since Tuesday. I’d only left the house twice to get sandwiches from the Quizno’s next to my house so I would only have to be gone for 8 or 9 minutes. It was time to accept that there would be no more songs. It was time to get some rest and try to take care of everything I’d neglected during the course of this experiment. I posted “The Truth Is Coming” and went to bed.

There was never any money. There was never an expectation for anything more than maybe a clip if I was lucky. I did not do this to hurt Guns N’ Roses. I did not do this for personal profit. I don’t know why I did this. There was no way to know when I started what “this” would actually become. I did have an overwhelming desire for us to have Chinese Democracy and The Blues, but I didn’t think there was anything *I* could do about it. I was willing to try though. You can thank “darknemus” for that. He made me realize that maybe brains was enough to get us songs. Once I realized that, it seemed kind of shitty to not at least try to put my brain to use. Even if just to see what would happen.

Well, what happened was pretty fucking crazy. What is written here is just some of it, but it’s enough of it. I’m already up to page 8 in MS Word. Right now I’m picturing hundreds of replies telling me this was too long and that nobody cares. If that’s the case, that’s ok. Writing this has made me feel much better. It felt good to get it off my chest. It feels good to have done what I’ve done. However, hearing the songs is what feels the best. I can’t wait to buy Chinese Democracy and I hope everyone else feels the same way.

I learned a lot these past ten days. I learned that greed will make people do a lot of foolish things. I learned that you can’t assume people will do what is in their own best interest. I learned about a secret cabal of GNR fans in Portugal and found out way more about them then I ever thought possible (hint hint, GNR management, I’ve got names, numbers, emails, and addresses of people that stole the disc(s) from your band). I learned that “GNR Sucks” gave the songs to prominent admins/mods in hopes it would lead to him being accepted into their club. I learned that Mr. Portugal used the songs to become friends with “Jarmo” months ago. I learned that sometimes being determined to do something is all you need to actually do it.

But most important, we all learned that Chinese Democracy is definitely going to kick a lot of fucking ass. I can’t wait. Thank you to everyone who supported me. Hell, thank you also to those that didn’t support me because your negativity fueled me to work even harder. Let’s hope that in a few short months, these leaks are nothing but a distant memory as we rock out to the new CD.

Mera information angående dom nya läckorna

Ett brev gick ut till admins på Guns N' Roses fansidor och forum igår som var skrivit av någon i Guns N' Roses management, troligen Del James. I brevet, som du kan läsa nedan, så anklagas fansen för att fördröja släppet av Chinese Democracy, eftersom vi "tradar" låtar, och att detta tar massa fokus från skivan, eftersom GNR-anställda måste övervaka internet och ta bort videos från youtube och länkar till läckor.
Fyfan säger jag bara! Det enda vi har är dessa videos från live-framträdanden och några demos att lyssna på, eftersom skivan aldrig levereras, ska dom ta bort det nu också, från bandets trogna fans? Dom enda som lyssnar på dessa läckor och demos är vi die-hards som följt bandet länge, och nu vill dom ta bort det enda lilla vi har?

Nåväl, detta brev gjorde troligen att någon som hade dom senaste låtarna blev så förbannad, att han helt enkelt bestämde sig för att läcka låtarna, eftersom dom dök upp efter detta brevet skickats! Rykten säger även att denna person har ännu en låt, som han kommer läcka.

Wheels are in motion for Chinese Democracy's release and the matter of the unreleased material leaking to the fanbase is very important to Axl and Guns N Roses and he has constant vigilance over the forums to try to contain the songs from being leaked as they are not the final versions which he wants us to hear...the more time spent patrolling the forums and enlisting his lawyers aid to contact people about this matter, the less time there is to finalize details of the album's release. Furthermore purchase and selling of the material is under copyright infringement and aiding of the sales and distribution of unreleased works is also illegal. He told me, and these are his exact words, "We've all waited this long for the album, we should be patient enough to wait to hear it in its final form. As far as the release of the album goes, all I can tell you is that I honestly believe we are getting close."

Guns N' Roses sålde slut på 12.000 biljetter på under en timme, och har lagt till en extra show i Auckland, Nya Zealand!

När biljetterna släpptes imorse till GNRs spelning i Sydney så såldes 14000 biljetter slut på en halvtimme! Det massiva intresset har gjort att dom bokat in två extra spelningar i Australien, den 16 och 24 juni!

Verkar som att dom kommer återhämta sig efter den senaste tidens inställda shower! Riktigt skönt, och en indikation på att det går åt rätt håll!

I'm writing now in the wake of the recently postponed and cancelled GNR commitments in Japan and South Africa. I guess I'm writing because I too am disappointed, have a conscience, a website, and I am not on the Bullet Train to Osaka this evening. I purely want to share with those whom were avid for seeing GNR at these concerts that I too was looking forward to seeing you all. The band was primed and pumped, production packed and shipped. Then, much to our distress, unforeseen circumstance walked in, dropped its surly case and announced with certainty, "I'm here! ". What can we do. I have received innumerable emails from real people who where hooking up with friends or family, flying to faraway cities, booking hotels or friend's couches, docking the USS Kitty Hawk, and otherwise scheduling their time and enthusiasm around these events. In short, these peeps wuz straight stung adrenalized and lettin' me square have it! I too was psyched about the shows, planning to meet friends and family, watch the cherry blossom blossom etc. It is my wish that your bounce forward from here be one of a willful arc and opportunity. Believe me, I'm swallowing that very pill by your side. Well, I'm not gonna go on with this letter, this letter to you who've sent me. I think you catch my drift. Rock in Rio hade riktigt kassa ljudtekniker så ljudet blir lite obalanserat i videos från den konserten eftersom ljudet som gick ut i webbsändingen var lite snedvridet. Men den här versionen av Patience är underbar, så jag lägger upp den igen!

Same Ol Situations

Nu har det hänt igen.
Guns N' Roses har ställt in dom fyra konsert-datumen i Japan. Det hävdas att Tommy Stinson ramlat ner för en trappa och stukat handen. Kalla mig cynisk, men jag är skeptisk. Om det nu skulle vara så som sägs, så skulle jag tippa på att Axl knuffade han nerför trappan! Skämt åsido, riktigt, riktigt tråkigt det här, och paralleller dras snabbt till 2002 när Buckethead hävdades ha magont. Det visade sig senare att han inte längre var med i bandet och hela turnen ställdes in. Tråkigt om det är sant, och ännu tråkigare om det ligger andra motiv bakom att ställa in spelningarna, kan det vara arbetet med Chinese Democracy som ännu inte är färdigt?

Jag återkommer när vi vet mera om situationen.
Som ni ser är japanerna inte särskilt nöjda över det här...

Guns N' Roses fest i Stockholm!

Den 16:e Maj så kommer det att vara stor Guns N' Roses-fest på Stampen i Stockholm, med anledning av att det är tjugo år sedan Appetite For Destruction släpptes! Det kommer bli ett jävla drag med gäster, husband och mycket skön musik!

Jag kommer definitivt att ta mig ner! Hoppas på att många av er läsare också tar sig dit för att snacka lite om Guns, Axl, eller ett Jack Daniels-race! Vore riktigt kul att träffa några läsare! Mera uppdateringar om festen kommer då och då, samt informationen om vilka gäster som kommer dyka upp!

Ny intervju med Bumblefoot

Han nämner ungefär 19 minuter in i intervjun att han har den färdiga, mixade versionen av albumet. Han säger sig dock inte haft tid att lyssna på den ännu!

Detta borde betyda att allt är klappat och klart, men personligen tror jag inte vi får albumet innan turnén drar igång om två veckor.

För bara en liten stund sedan så läckte en studioversion av låten 'Madagascar' ut på nätet! Om detta är den slutgiltiga versionen som ska vara med på Chinese Democracy vet ingen ännu, jag återkommer med mer information i ämnet så snart någon ny fakta dyker upp!

Chinese Democracy inlämnad till skivbolaget?

Sidan Bravewords rapporterade idag såhär i en nyhet:

"Universal Music sources" inform BW&BK that GUNS N' ROSES "fictional album" Chinese Democracy is done and has been handed in. All Universal BIG wigs were flown to Los Angeles a couple of weeks back to listen to it. The delay is blamed on frontman Axl Rose "not having the proper team in place" since he fired his manager, Merck Mercuriadis. As soon as he gets his "new team" in place the album will be released. September seems like the most likely scenario. Don't hold your breath.

Detta skulle alltså kunna förklara läckandet av klippet tidigare idag. Personligen håller jag tummarna för att hela albumet snart kommer läcka ut på nätet! Självklart kommer jag köpa skivan, men vem vet när den kommer dyka upp?

Uppdatering: Detta sägs vara osant, men jag tror ändå att skivan kan ha lämnats in till bolaget, och att det är därför vi nu fått en ny läcka. Ta den här "nyheten" med en nypa salt. Det viktiga är kanske inte varifrån läckan kom, utan att den kom.

Jag har tidigare skrivit om att Guns N' Roses ska turnera i Japan och i Sydafrika, nu har detta blivit bekräftat genom bandets hemsida.

Dock finns det något som oroar mig, om dom ställde in fyra stycken konserter i januari (läs mer i Axls brev) för att jobba på skivan och dess lansering, varför bokar dom då in nya datum? Vi har fortfarande inget releasedatum. Om vi inte får ett datum innan dom här konserterna, så känns det jävligt skumt!

Att Lars Winnerbäck är ett stort Guns N' Roses fan? Han har sagt i intervjuer (som jag läste för många år sedan) att en av tre skivor han skulle ta med sig till en öde ö skulle vara 'Appetite for Destruction', och hans egna företag har han döpt till Novemberregn AB.

The song "Better" has been receiving airplay across the country, but there is no official single release. No one seems to know where the song came from or how it got out. Did Guns N’ Roses purposely leak the track?

"Here’s what I know," keyboardist Dizzy Reed explains to GunsNRoses.com. "We were doing a commercial with Harley-Davidson. Harley was going to do a version using 'Paradise City' and another version using 'Better.' Their Web site even had a version up for like one day with 'Better,' but the version of 'Better' that they had was an unfinished, unapproved demo.

That’s why it was removed. The version that’s getting airplay is that same demo. "Our understanding of how that happened is that an experimental edit using 'Better' in place of 'Paradise City' was somehow accidentally mislabeled as the 'Paradise City' Harley-Davidson video/commercial and was inadvertently released on the internet.

We believe the 'leak' came from this source tape and someone with access to it. "For the record, absolutely none of the songs that have been leaked have come from the band or our organization. None of the songs that have been leaked are anything more than demo versions, works in progress. No final mixes. "It’s really frustrating working on something as hard as we have and then having it wind up on the Internet before it’s finished. Hearing a demo on the radio really sucks."

GNRonline.it stänger ned

På grund av bristen på information från bandet, och deras ständigt brutna löften har nu den italienska fansidan GNRonline.it bestämt sig för att stänga ner helt. Detta var samma sida som gick ut i strejk som jag skrivit om tidigare HÄR GNRonline.it är Italiens största Guns N' Roses-sida och har 3500 medlemmar på sitt forum.

Såhär skriver dom:

Dear Gunners,

we regret to tell you that in relation to the protest we started on December 7th 2006 our Guns fan sites and forums, gnronline.it and gnronline.org, will be shut down at once. The never ending saga of Chinese Democracy, the lack of respect, clearness and mutual loyalty are just some of the reasons that has brought us down to this painful conclusion. Until now our detractors have always accused us of being “Axl Fanatics” (and to a certain degree it is probably true) but today we aren’t able to sustain Axl’s project anymore, neither financially nor economically. We just can’t afford to waste our heads on a project that has never even taken us into consideration. We gladly leave that to other “fan” sites and forums that have the will and passion to be fooled around one more time.

It is also sad that the fore mentioned websites and forums, most of whom claim to have direct links to the GNR camp, have build a wall between them and other sites like ours (as well every other fan out there), reluctant to even start collaborations from whom we all would have benefit from.

GNRonline shutting down will not only affect the flow of GNR news and discussions in Italy, but it will also tear apart a community of 3500 users who have been maintaining daily relationships and friendship through this website for many years now. Coherence though is one thing that have always been a key point of our conducts, and despite the fact that closing down upsets us a lot, this is the only thing that makes sense to do at this point.

We still want to believe in Axl Rose and his record and we greatly wish that Chinese Democracy would see the light of day before February 2008. If that will be the case we will make our best effort to re-open the site otherwise our domains will be lost and that will be the end of it.

Imorgon är det sjätte mars, datumet som Axl pratade om i sitt brev. Vi vet redan med 99,9% säkerhet att Chinese Democracy inte släpps imorgon. Vi kommer kanske få något annat dock, en singel, ett nytt brev, ett fast releasedatum, eller ingenting alls.

Det har varit väldigt tyst den senaste tiden från Guns N' Roses läger, och jag tror faktiskt därför att vi inte kommer höra någonting alls. Men ni vet vart ni ska vända er för att läsa om något hänt.

8.- Del James affirmed that you record in Chinese Democracy, can you comment something of the happened?

Yes, Frank and I added parts to some of the songs during the breaks between touring. As our friend Del said, the recording is finished and the album is being mixed now. This is true.

9.- All world Talk of Chinese democracy, What have you for say?
I'm really looking forward to everyone hearing the album

10.-Ron, Is this the year?

Yes. We should always try to make every year better than the last. Last year was a good year. I have faith that this year will be even better. And I hope I get to celebrate it with all of you
